FOXHALL SHARE THE SPOILS IN OPENING DAY HORROR SHOW………… Here we go again another season with players leaving and some players coming in its been a busy summer (sorry what summer).First I would like to wish Ben Duffield all the best with Burnley, as well as Craig Brown, Richard James, and Mark Shaw all the best with there new clubs thanks for everything you gave to Foxhall jfc.and not forgetting Isaac Guy who has decided to try other sports. Where OFF !!!!!,and it was Foxhall that started the better with Jordan Wood firing just passed the post, Shore tactics where to spoil the fluent football that Foxhall have been used to the previous season and it worked well for them ,as Foxhall struggled to put two passes together which caused panic on many occasions . On 7mins Shore took the lead when a fizz of a cross was whipped across the Foxhall goal only to take a wicked deflection which left keeper Joe Wheeler stranded ,(0-1)In fairness Shore was causing all sorts of problems as Foxhall struggled with there combative style of play. Foxhall had plenty of possession but on numerous occasions the final delivery was poor, the only bright spark in the first half was Jordan Wood who nearly caught the keeper out with a 40 yarder which went narrowly over the bar. James Daley was injured late on in the first half and was replaced by John Winthrop.Ht 0-1 Things had to improve in the second half but again Foxhall struggled all afternoon weather it was first game nerves we don't know, but we certainly wasn't firing on all cylinders and had to battle to get anything out of this scrappy game, on 45mins Foxhall broke with pace from Walsh who crossed for the on rushing Wood who seemed to get his feet tangled up when only the keeper to beat. Finally!!!!!! Goal as a peach of a corner from Ollie Crolla sailed across the goal with Joe Ratcliffe poaching to slam home from close range. (1-1) Again Foxhall had the bulk of the possession but never really threatened a stern Shore rearguard. Shore was no pushovers and had chances themselves with a couple of efforts from free kicks which Wheeler dealt with comfortably. Foxhall made substitutions with Ryan Matthews and Elliot Ramsey both limping off with injuries hopefully not too serious,Nial Pailing and Joe Nichols entered the fray and again Foxhall tried in vain to snatch the winner but it wasn't to be.Ft 1-1 Summary; A REAL WAKE UP CALL sums it up with too many people not performing to there usual standards against a team that wasn't pretty in there football but masters in there will to win .Well Done Shore hopefully we will take note on today's performance and raise the bar against BJ as anything less will not be enough. |
